One of the most exciting boutique developments we’ve had the pleasure of working on recently was a triple townhouse project in Port Melbourne.
Each of these impressive modern townhouses features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, spacious living areas and a garage with two car spaces, thanks to the impressive car stackers for each townhouse.
This project is a real feat of innovative and modern design; a space where natural and industrial materials were combined with flair.
Let’s talk street appeal
When approaching this development from the street, you’ll be struck first by the striking façade – a combination of round brick and rolled grid feature metal sections. This metal grid forge extends to one of the townhouse’s stunning rooftop terraces, which boasts wonderful city views.
Our clients were looking for the “wow-factor” and we certainly think the exterior design by Kavellaris Urban Design delivered!
Step inside this boutique development
Step inside the first townhouse and you find the exterior style is continued with black curved surfaces and large ECCO circular windows that look out to a nearby park. This unique circular theme is certainly Port Melbourne’s most unique feature – not only does it make for striking impact on the street, but it also allows for an impressive amount of natural light into each townhouse.
In terms of style, our clients wanted to create something contemporary and industrial, but with a degree of softness that permeated the exterior and interior of the home. This saw the melding of monochrome industrial materials with softer curves come to life throughout the development.
A few challenges along the way
Our Port Melbourne project also has two street frontages. This meant an extra level of strategic planning was required by our team throughout the build, particularly around access requirements and liaising with neighbours and local council for permits.
One of the most important and innovative parts of this build was the installation of the Klaus car stackers in each garage to enable storage for two cars. This also allowed space for us to build three bedrooms within each townhouse.
We couldn’t have pulled off this innovative project without the hard work of our trusted team, including suppliers and subcontractors.
